Entry Requirements

Essential: C pass or better in English at National 4. Preferable: C pass or better in English at National 5; C pass or better in Music at National 4 or 5; C pass or better in Drama at National 4 or 5. All applicants are invited to audition and decisions on entry are based on the quality of performance and potential to develop on the course. The audition process will require you to attend and participate a workshop session at the College where we will assess your potential in acting, dance and song. This will be followed by a short informal interview. Decisions will be taken on the basis of the panel view of your potential in all three disciplines.

Description

This is an introductory course providing an overview of theatre arts with an emphasis on practical skills. The course develops practical skills and enables students to gain a working knowledge in theatrical disciplines. Students will have the opportunity to perform in a number of productions. Successful completion will be awarded an NC Acting and Performance and will be given priority consideration for entry to the HND Musical Theatre.

Course Content

Course topics include: - Acting Skills - Singing Skills - Vocal Techniques - Dance - Movement - Audition Techniques.

Duration

Full Time. 1 Academic Year. August - June. 16 Hours per Week. Applicants wishing to study on a part-time basis will be considered and should provide information on this in their personal statement and at interview.
