Description

This one year, full-time course is for those who want to develop a career in photography or gain admission to a related higher education course. Course Aims This NQ award has been designed to provide you with a vibrant and creative experience and assist with the development of your photographic skills. The intention is to furnish you with a sufficiently broad base of relevant photographic skills appropriate to either employment as a practicing photographer or alternatively for successful articulation on to our HND programme. We aim to prepare you as fully as possible for life at HND level or in employment. We believe that it is a fundamental principle that you as a student develop your own style, that you can work independently and that your portfolio reflects your ability. Course Design The NQ course is a full time course and you will be timetabled 2 ½ days per week. We understand that students have jobs and in order to support their education we try to timetable accordingly. Our NQ students are usually timetabled Monday, Tuesday, 1/2 day Wednesday, this allows time for a part time job and also reduces travelling costs. Class sizes are small, usually between 16-18 students, we tell our students they are very spoiled by all the attention they receive!

Finally At first most students are quite shy, reserved and nervous, but after a short period of time groups start to gel/merge into cohesive teams, each with its own identity. This course is an opportunity to develop yourself technically, creatively, intellectually and interpersonally. It will give you a range of transferable skills, which will be invaluable to you at HN level and in employment.
