Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.  All applicants will be interviewed and will be expected to have an enthusiasm for the subject and will be required to present images which demonstrate their interest in photography.

Description

This one year, full-time course is for those who want an entry level course in photography and want to learn the basic principals’ of photography including research work, using a Digital SLR camera and basic photoshop skills. You will be briefed on various projects including photographing people and photographing places. This course will help to develop your creative skills in photography and support admission to a related further education course in photography or the creative industries. This course offers a much more personal experience with smaller class sizes than larger colleges.

Course Content

The course consists of National Progression Awards in Photography and includes visits to exhibitions and lectures from invited speakers from industry. The course will include modules in: - Understanding Photography - Photographing People - Photographing Places - Working with Photographs - Portraiture - Stills image Editing - Enterprise Activity

Duration

Full Time. 1 Academic Year. August - June. Applicants wishing to study on a part-time basis will be considered and should provide information on this in their personal statement and at interview.

Progression

This course will support admission to a related further education course in photography or the creative industries at SCQF Level 6.
